Skiing the Sunny Ski Slopes of Squaw Valley International Ski Field – 01/17/09
*Sorry for the delay on the posting of the utterly amazing report of a trip I took skiing with fellow skiers. I had to basically move out of my apartment so we could repaint it….my apologies yet again. Now that its snowing, I figured it would be nice to go back in time and remember the glorious sunny days in January 2009.

Synopsis:
Sunny day. We did some piste runs (groomers in America), followed by some steep CHALKY lines in Cornice II bowl, Top of Granite Chief, and under Olympic Lady.
Slim hated it….
We saw Carveman…

Winter trying to battle against Junuary….
Tahoe is a lake that is only blue when you max out your saturation…
YAY! SQUAW VALLEY…looks warm eh?
They have a Tram. They have a face below the Tram that’s always angry…
KT44 is the Mo5T Extreme lift in USA…
Olympic Lady is a cool lady…
The Palisades…need some snow (good thing the forecast is calling for some)

I convinced Lane to ride Squaw One Express…such a fun chair…
This CLOUD was the catalyst to the current series of storms….
Lane gets hella nervous on riding Siberia….

It has Slim’s favorite kind of snow…shitty…

Direct Chute was looking pretty fun…
And since skiing is so much fun, we decided to hike to the peak of Granite…
…"back in high school, I could throw a football over that lake"
The southern view…albeit with no big blue lake…
Slim thought skiing down there was stupid, so I totally went for it!

While taking our usual gnar laps on East Broadway…I witnessed the unbelievable…CARVEMAN!
We headed over to Sunbowl….which had a little too much sun…
Slim was ready to blow his brains out at this point…
In Cornice II bowl, they have off piste areas….
The best snow is always found in places that are hard to visit…
Good thing the Moment M1’s are named after a TANK!
